Outreach

Yale Undergraduate Robotics

I co-founded Yale Undergraduate Robotics because I wanted ambitious student builders at Yale to have a real place to build. Now, as President, I do whatever needs to be done so builders build well and fast—whether that means securing thousands in funding, developing partnerships, or creating the systems that let a highly selective team design, fabricate, and field a competition rover.

FIRST Robotics/FIRST Global

FIRST Robotics outreach has shaped how I think about engineering leadership: technical excellence matters most when it creates room for more people to participate. As a recipient of FIRST’s top student leadership award, I have remained an active volunteer and advocate for the program that first taught me to build. I approach outreach with a simple philosophy: everyone is worth a cup of coffee. Whether someone is a new student, mentor, teammate, or community partner, I believe listening first is how you find the right way to support them—and build stronger technical communities.

I was also recently an Award Judge for FIRST Global, an olympics-style robotics competition that had over 190+ nations.

dianabuildsrobots is where I make engineering visible. Through short-form videos, builds, and creative experiments, I share the process behind robotics, research, and the physics of everyday things—often through the lens of music and design. It is my way of showing that engineers can be technical, artistic, curious, and fully themselves, while inviting more people into the joy of making.

Cadence of Yale A Cappella

Cadence of Yale is Yale’s premier competitive a cappella group—and a community that refuses to let tradition limit what a group can be. I joined as a sophomore because I was drawn to its commitment to engaging with the broader a cappella world, creative performance, and genuine team culture. Drawing on my background in sound engineering, I help coordinate live performances while learning how trust, shared standards, and a little experimentation turn individual talent into a cohesive team. That people-first approach to building a group is one I also bring to Yale Undergraduate Robotics.
